I thank you for the info from former driver that drove for TMC, just looking for current drivers from this company.
Im about to make a career change and have been reading everything I can find on TMC. And from what I have read they have strict quide lines to get employeed with them. And i know that some of the post are from drivers that couldnt pass something or other during the 2wk orintaintion. But I was wanting to ask current drivers what is their take on the company.
Please dont take me wrong i do read and understand that it is somewhat i starter company for new drivers. Take your lumps and move on if need be, or if you like stay there.
hope this make sence on what Im trying to ask. -
Orientation is strict but meant to weed out those not cut out for the job. You can imagine what kinds of people apply at any large carrier, it looks like a circus at first. It's nothing to be intimidated by, just stay off the grass (this is a psychological test to see if you can follow orders) dress nicely, say yes sir and yes ma'am, pay attention, make an effort to physically participate in the load securement class instead of just standing there and you'll be fine. The only people who get cut are the ones who would never make it at this job in the first place, and they are experts at fiinding that out before they put you in one of their trucks.

I'm thinking he was jawing on his cell phone, fighting with girlfreind, and was wasnt looking were he going , driving one handed, but thats only my guess, ether way a big no no, leave the phones off, some truckstop even have that posted, or they did, becuse of the static charge off the phone, but tmc is not prone too any accidents ether , just north of des moines ,theres a body shop there, i counted at lest 86 truck's that been smashed all up, they were rebuilding them there, then they buy old trucks and run thru the body shop there, but they shure look nice when they poop out the other end, sorta like a car wash, then i rember a driver telling me , no more chrome bumpers , one time, cutting costbut i really like the way they dress up there trucks, looks nice all that black and chrome, but this accdent is clearly drivers fault,he may been just too tired , never know,

I worked there for 3 years. great place to learn flatbeding if you are new to trucking. but hard to make a living. when rates can change day to day. you will need to be on CPM. to make it. look to do 4 to 5 loads a week.

Loaded with a TMC driver one day in Houston. spent the afternoon listening to him brag about his truck which was an '07 shorthood Pete. Then asked him what kind of money he was making 34 cents per mile.
I did some calculating and my 23% added up to 68 cents a mile. I left him standing there mouth hanging open, got in the '08 exhd Pete Iwas driving and called my wife to tell her I'd be home in a few hours. I feel for these guys that are just starting out. They get taken advantage of by these companies like TMC. Theyre blinded by those big shiney Petercars and don't see the big picture.

I never had any issue making money with them. Taking mileage over percentage is always a bad move if you ask me. Before I bought my own truck I was making 31% and that's the truth. Never had any issues with them. Great company.
