So I got a question for you tmc drivers with local day cab positions. There's a owens corning plant local to me in Medina, Ohio that I see tmc running out of there. Do you have to drive line haul before being able to get into a local position? I called a recruiter about it a few months back and all he said is "we're not hiring out of there currently" and basically sounded like he didn't even care to talk to me so that was it. Seems like a fairly easy job Id be interested in.

Most all of the dedicated opportunities have a waiting list for people to get into it. If your joining TMC as an experienced driver you may be able to get on a dedicated account right away. Otherwise you will have to pay your dues in linehaul first.

I am also on the Owens Corning dedicated and barely making it, the local pay grosses about 700-850 week is what I need net, but I'm home almost every day. Its taken 2 months on the dedicated run and I'm thinking about a move to another carried and buying my own rig. It is a good company if you can live on 700-900 gross.

I'm on Lowes Dedicated, will clear around $55k this year. Only time it gets rough is around holidays. No loads, no pay. But everyone has that. So if you think you can't make money on dedicated, stay with line haul.

During the orientation, is there a step test involved? If so, how long is it for? Just wondering. Ive been doing flatbed for about 6 years now, and I have a bit of a knee problem. It doesnt get in the way of my job so to speak, but if i have to climb stairs for a number a couple of minutes, it gets kind of annoying. Thanks for all the feedback.
