I don't think its unheard of at all. There are so many horror stories about trainers it's crazy. I can't know if he's fibbing or not, but trainers can be douches, mine had his moments where I wanted to kill him. Lol There are threads where newbies have been told to suck it up and deal with the BS, maybe not in a racist instance, but in other instances. I'm definitely guilty of doing that on TTR. Maybe not in those exact words, but many of us have told drivers to "suck it up." I encourage folks to try and stick it out because while trucking is BS in the beginning, it gets better over time. It takes patience and high BS tolerance. Of it were me talking to thay plaintiff, I'd tell him that you will need thick skin because there's more of that to experience in this industry. Not only that, he's got the power to go to a different company(prior to his termination). It ain't as if TMC is the only company.

Three sides to every story... I think it's admirable you admit your bias and that truth is a secondary concern in your process.kuzima93, Siinman and Jubal Early Times Thank this.

You're gonna have to provide some actual examples, because I must have missed that.
@Lonesome brought up a point that I think really shows how the plaintiff's story doesn't make sense. "Boy, suck it up or take the Greyhound..." makes absolutely no sense if a complaint of racism was actually reported to the manager. There have been hundreds if not thousands of black employees hired at TMC through the years and this guy in the year of 2022 is the only one who filed a lawsuit? I think not. Let's just say there were others before him, I highly doubt no matter the outcome of the previous reports or lawsuits, a manager would be that stupid to say anything close to that, especially to a black person, or any other person for that matter. It just makes no logical sense in any capacity whatsoever.kuzima93, Lonesome, JonJon78 and 1 other person Thank this. -
This is the exact type of thinking that weaponizes the 911 system... Police show up to a situation with bad info and when they presume it to be legitimate before investigating innocent people are victimized.IH9300SBA, kuzima93, Siinman and 1 other person Thank this.

So you are going to take the word of someone that only had a problem after he refused a drug test and got terminated?
Yea, that say a lot about how much evidence you need to believe his claims.....kuzima93, Siinman, HoundDog7 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Isn’t that the opposite of what the law is supposed to do?
I thought it was innocent until proven guilty but here you have it but backwards as do most who cry foul over everything without proof!
So if a white person says they were treated with predjudist and racist remarks are they also believed from the start no matter how fishy the story sounds?
Sure hope no one like you ever ends up on a jury that has to judge me for anything! -
As long as you admire me......I guess. Lol I don't know the guy personally so I can't have a bias towards him. Quite frankly, neither one of us know the truth, just whats presented in the document. I'll let the courts decide the truth.Lonesome Thanks this.

Sure why not? Innocent to proven guilty right? All we are doing here is speculating.Last edited: Nov 25, 2022

Regardless of color, its innocent til proven guilty. My thought would be the same regardless of what color the guy is. My points are not really geared towards race. All I'm saying is if someone, anyone, has a grievance, just listen.

Why doesn't it? People say out of the line stuff all the time. I don't get narrative that just because so many black employees were hired prior, that this guy is lying. Anybody is liable to have a grievance at any time. You never know.
