What you were watching has several variables to the process 1) some drivers can be dedicated out of there so they would come in with an empty trailer drop it and get another one. Finish the tarp and securement and be on their way. 2) Depending on the company they may store their 4x4s and other securement on the tractor or trailer. With TMC it is on the trailer. So you spend time transferring all your equipment from one trailer to the next. Then you have to see what's on your deck and secure it. Finish the tarp and you are on your way. THEN you run the chance the driver who brought that trailer didn't leave you pos....gashes in the tire(s), lights not working, missing mud flaps, leaking break chambers. All could be prevented if they only reported it. But back to your thoughts...... You will always have that feeling with a pre loaded trailer no mater who you are pulling for.

I seen a few of you TMC drivers mentioning a top 5 driver.... When talking about being a 30% driver, is this a bump up in pay as in a higher percentage of the BOL? Im green on the percentage pay and I just put in an app this week and talked with a recruiter yesterday. I was told Id start at 27%..... But Im asking you, as a driver, how does that 27% look week by week on the take home pay if you dont mind my asking. I.e..... with benefit deductions and all..

Well you're guaranteed 1k, your first 8 weeks in your own truck. If you break it, that's what you get, if you don't, they give you whatever it takes to get to a grand. One in your own truck, the first week you're at 26%, and yes, that's off the gross of the load. Each week, your percentage changes, until at 13 weeks you get your first official snapshot. It'll give you what percentage you are getting for that month, until your next snapshot. There is a certification scale, based on several factors, all of which you'll learn in orientation. Average take home depends on your weeks revenue, and your percentage. I've been anywhere from 817 (lowest) to 1192 (highest). With that being said, winter is here, and I've been told things will slow down a bit, but who knows. This was just my experiences so far.

817 to 1192 after all deductions huh? So I take it insurance premiums aren't too bad? Because where I am now, Ive never payed so much for insurance, and they're killing me here

I want to say it's like 117 a week for family.

    I'm around 1700 to 2300 a week in mileage.

Being on percentage your weekly pay is based on the revenue to the truck for the week. Your percentage of that revenue is based on your current snap shot percentage. That percentage 27>32 is based on several items you will learn at orientation. However, the revenue is based on the loads. Get good paying loads get good pay. Get bad paying loads get bad pay. Your percentage number will go up and down during the year. New guys get a break on loads and running the oh and in turnpikes where veteran drivers have to pay if they use them without permission.

Yeah, I still don't get that. So dumb that we don't all get to use it, including you vets, for free. Like y'all can get permission, riot, or does it just not happen?

In order to run it with out being deducted from pay the run must be 650 miles which can include bounce. You cant run it on the weekend. So I loose 30.00 any time I run oh line to line. Which don't sound bad until you see your pay check with over 100.00 deducted.

Jesus, and I park in Indy, and a lot of my runs are around Indiana / Ohio. Won't be fun, once I get over a year.
