Can you imagine being paid for all of your time. Wow! Percentage and mileage would not be worth it. Think about it?

 

Have you thought of Keen Transport out of Carlisle, PA.. If your experianced they haul heavy equipment, O/D loads and stuff... Just about everywhere you can find a CAT plant there is a Keen yard not far away..

 

Well, what i'm doing now is closer to being paid for 'all' my time than most companies offer anyone else. I do very well with TMC (With the exception of the slow freight lately) The next step up would be an hourly job, and, i've done the math and i would be paid significantly less by the hour than i do now.. Becuase, unlike you i don't really consider the 'drive time' to be work, and i do enjoy my job most of the time.

Ask any owner operator out here with a big shiny truck how much money they're making and you know what they'll say? "It's not about the money" because it's not. It's about freedom, and having fun. You might not enjoy what you do, but i like what i do for a living. I see what my company makes on the loads that i pull for them, and i see what i make on them as well, 30% is pretty significant. So, like i said, i don't do bad. It sure beats driving for swift.
