hey guys need some info.i was with tmc but quit 8 months ago.left on good terms.was a newbee had something strange happen today need some insight on if its true and has this happen to anyone that has quit.my phone rings caller id says unavailable let it go to voice mail checked voice mail and its my old fm.wants to know what i am doing now.so i tell him layed off for the winter then he ask if i would like to come back to tmc.i ask why becouse of all the drivers that are leaving. he said no he was told to call all drivers that quit that had done a good job because january was a very good month and they expect this to be a good year for them for freight.been reading here and to me there are alot of drivers quitting any insight in this would be helpful as unemployment is running out and nobody is knocking on my door to hire me.thanks in advance.

kratzzer, I'll take a guess that since they aren't taking on any newbies and want experience only, it's easier (and cheaper) to try and get back ex TMC drivers. In order of ease, quickness regarding getting a truck back out on the road and expense:
A) Ex TMC drivers (they already are familiar with TMC's policies)
B) A experienced flatbed driver from some other company.
C) A experienced driver with no fb exp.
D) a complete newbie.
It's no different with non driving companies, that have had a layoff. Call the past, experienced people to see if they want to come back, before going to hiring off the street.
