TMC has a larger running area. McElroy is more regional, getting you home almost certainly every weekend. Probably would run more miles with TMC but also almost certainly strung out on weekend more often. Both are good companies. If home time is more important I would choose Mcelroy. If money is more important then probably TMC is the better choice. Either way don't stress the physical too much. Sounds like you can pass just fine.
Not sure about these Co.s but you take a at-home test first and if you fail you will take a hospital visit test.
Since you already have a good DOT physical card, why not go with a company that doesn't require a new physical. This way you have 2 yrs. to prepare for another physical. It would be a shame to go with TMC or McElroy and flunk the physical. Here's a website to help with sleep apnea: www.rpmhst.com Here's a few that will accept your current physical; just do a urine drug test and maybe blood pressure check: Danny Herman Trucking J&R Schugel Magnum Ltd. I wouldn't go to TMC, they send roughly half of their recruits home, so if you need to work and pay the bills and don't have that buffer... I wouldn't chance it. Their physical is done at a preemployment doctors office which is very particular. They measure your neck and everything and sent a few guys home on suspected sleep apnea.
Tmc has 30+/- grads every week. That should tell you something, right? The answer is, They are not adding 30 trucks to the fleet a week.
