Hell if your paying in beer, is there a bonus if you punch Bill out?
If so I may apply, unless its Falls City Beer then no deal.

Bill said I was a POS so I'm done asking people to punch him. Must have finally crossed that line. So that part is probably true. I like to support local breweries so i'm going with Potosi Brewery, some New Glarus, and there is a little place up the road Lake Louie Brewing Company. I'm sure we can make something work 07-379Pete

I would generally recommend % pay for flatbed work. At 26% you would only need to exceed an average of 1.35/mi on all miles. Given today's rates I would thinks this is easily attainable. If you have any choice, stick to the shorter runs with high rates. Run regional. Stay away from the Western half of the country.

yep, I can forward you the email. It's for real, so I'm backing off.

But for some serious advice you guys should listen to cpape, that guy knows his stuff and works at/runs a class act organization.

Two weeks at a time? I have to say that's ultimately up to you and your FM. Being from Virginia beach I'd almost guarantee every week end even if all you do is drive in the south. If you tell you FM that you'd like to take a ld to the ne than back again you'll make good $ and be home every wkend.

Exactly. The only time this is different is when you take loads from the east coast straight to the west coast and back again. But in flatbed these are few and far between. And personally I'd still take percentage on these as well. $7000 at 30% pays better than 3500 miles at. 39 a mile.

Coincidentally, I don't believe in paying company drivers percentage pay. We agree to a wage for the work they perform. They are paid additional for short loads, detention, and OD. They are paid bonuses for doing their job well. They have nothing do with rate we are paid for what they are hauling or any investment in the equipment. It is my job to make sure what is on the truck makes us money. They also don't suffer when a load pays poorly, or they have a long bounce.

Well I guess thats your poragative. But given the choice percentage is the way to go. And with the way TMC does their pay scale it gives the driver a reason to work harder and put up with places like the northeast where they can make more money since a majority of drivers wont go there.

Yeah like my load of shingles that went 39 loaded miles and paid my truck 750 bucks and I'm at 28%. O yeah I also got 100 bucks for boro pay because they delivered to queens. What would mileage pay on that one????

If you want to be home with your family as much as possible, what did Melton say about time out and time at home?

Which benefits are better just out of curiosity? I pay my 80 some bucks a week for my full health coverage for my wife and I and that stays the same no matter how many kids you have to.

I have fun with TMC and have no complaints just the whole 62MPH deal but hey thats easy to deal with. Yeah tarp pay is less then Melton but again the pay for the load is probably going to be better. We get hazmat pay which I enjoy hauling because that pay usually is pretty big depending on where your hauling it from. Also the OD pay is nice to and the drop off pay on some of those alcoa loads that already pay AWESOME!!! I get along great with my FM but then again I am a very easy going person. He does his job, gets me a load and I do what I do. He gets me home almost every weekend some shorter then others but hey I am home every weekend pretty much to see my wife and everything. If you want some more info PM me or let me know on here.
