I can tell you this for TMC, you will be in or atleast drive through Chicago almost daily. I use to do a lot of shingles out of Summit and insulation out of highland park I think it was? Plus the steel out of NW Indiana and Detroit. You would pretty much stick to the midwest and mid south. I am now on the specialized division at TMC but back when I was on linehaul I did very well on the % based pay hauling regular flatbed freight. Also for getting home, I was home almost every Friday by 6pm and left out usually around 5pm on Sunday. If you want to know anything specific about TMC just send me a PM and I can help you out.

Is TMC bad on home time if you live in the North East as a recent grad? I noticed there more central U.S.

There is a ton of trucks out that way also. I would have to guess that they are good about it up there too. They get you home almost every weekend.

I pull flat for Roehl, I looked into going to TMC, Melton, PGT, Boyd, and a couple smaller places. I would have to lose hometime and take a pay cut to go to any of them.

No pets allowed at TMC. They are really strict on the trucks appearance at TMC as you can tell if you have seen out trucks. Have to be washed atleast every other week, when you go in for a PM, the truck has to be spotless, and you cant modify the truck in anyway. They supply a CB and all that stuff so no need for your own. The only modification you can have done is a power invertor that TMC will install. You have to pay for the invertor and they supply the wiring kit and install. I dont remember what the cost was, I want to say like 180 bucks but it is yours after that and if you change trucks they instal it in the new one free of charge.

    MysticTrucker Thanks this.

Where in "upstate" are you? Boyd wont hire out of New York last I checked, When I left Roehl Melton told me .40cpm, which was more than I got at Roehl.

my Vote goes to TMC as I work for them and am also a trainer no one is forced to do team stop the lies you need to average 400 miles per day 5 days a week for 5 weeks to get the 10,000 miles required to get on your own truck not keeping that average you will fail to get the miles

    MysticTrucker and milskired Thank this.

I called TMC and spoke to a recruiter named Laurie. I specifically asked if TMC drove team for training and she stated very clearly that I would team for two weeks after my first three weeks of doing all the driving. She did not give me the scoop about the miles required...if she had I probably would have figured it out. I wasn't lying about anything...just repeating what the recruiter told me.

Thanks for the straight scoop from someone who actually does the training.
