Then why is he blaming it on him being black? FYI Maverick is one of the better OTR companies out there. Are they perfect? No, but in my opinion they do a pretty good job. You can do a lot worse.
Is there a Wal Mart near you? Their(safe haven) company policy allows you to park there for up to 3 days.That is if the Home Depot spot doesn't pan out for you. Of course some of the store could decide to make up their own policy as sometimes happens. Hope TMC works out for you. If I were still physically able to get up and down off the trailers and throw the tarps around I might have gone there too.
ok now I'm getting tired of you hoosier whatever I stated in my first post when I got sent home that I was ok until it went from 1 black(me) to 2 blacks, to 3 blacks all of us had the paperwork they asked for but Again for u since I assume u didn't read the whole statement I wrote u saw discrimination because I'm black and ur defense for your race shield went up. I only call it how I see it and being as though ur not black u don't look at things the way I do so if u don't mind I don't need your simple minded comments. Anyway so here is an update I'm still on the bus to philly and I get a call from my truck school they said they called tmc to figure out why I was not allowed 24 hours to get more information that they needed only 18 hrs and the head of training Jeff whoever told my school that I said I was not going to get any letter sent to tmc because it will take away my disability. Hmmm now guys on my mothers grave I swear I had not only a letter that stated I had no limitations I had my whole medical record from the army sent to tmc. So if it was my attitude hoosier why are they lying to my career liaison about what happened. Now they messed up because I have witnesses that I sent them everything they asked for. The doctors office and fort drum, ny medical facility record release supervisor. Shame on tmc I am very very disappointed in this company. Military friendly my ### bunch of liars. Oh yea and another thing hoosier and anyone who has been to des Moines. How many black ppl did you see that worked for tmc while u were there not just drivers I'm talking staff I saw 1 driver and no staff answer me that since it was my attitude.
If you only saw one black company driver, it had to be Alex..... Like I said, Chris.... Things will get better. You gave it one helluva shot. A door is never closed without a window being opened. If TMC doesn't pan out, Crete, Maverick, or Swift may be in my future. I'm keeping options open. And you're doing the same. I hate what they're doing to you, but it's like Gears said, it's hard to contend with those big companies. They have that "holier than thou" attitude. I've watched your posts and can tell your a man of honesty, integrity, and hard work, and I'm sure you're good at what you do. Keep your chin up. Look for me out on the road a few months. You see a TMC truck, holler for the Catfish. I might just holler back.
Look on the other boards here for info on other companies. I would guess most have good and bad reviews. Only thing I heard bad about USxpress was that most of there trucks are autos and as a newbie if you work there for awhile you'll get used to the auto and be really rusty shifting manuals if you switch to another company as most are not autos I would think.
If you want to go flatbed, then start applying to flatbed companies. Don't waste your time with Van companies, if that isn't what you want to do. Thank you for your military service and personal sacrifices you made during your service time.
