how could he not know the damage exisited. does he not do a pretrip or post trip inspection. seems to me if the company trusts me with a $80,000+ rig and trailer, I would be #### sure everything worked before, during and after a trip. I do belive that this in taugh in a cdl course and orientations.

I'm happy at TMC. I'm on one of the dedicated accounts so I pretty much know how much I will be making each week and what I will be doing. The job is pretty much what I was told it gonna be when I started. Been with them for almost 3 years now. There is good and bad info in the forums about TMC. Try to take everything with a grain of salt, good or bad.

All that chrome doesn't pay the bills....:biggrin_25526:They use the chrome to blind all the newbies coming in with stars in their eyes. Trust me, I drove for them for 3 years. At first it was good (typical)....Then the last year was awful.

Why? Look at it this way. You are an experienced driver making 27-30% of the load. You and a newbie are setting empty at the same place and 2 loads become available. The newbie is making a measly 23% of the load. Who do you think is going to get the best paying load?

Got tired of playing their games. But then again, don't expect ANY trucking company to EVER be totally honest with you.

I guess you could always do worse than TMC....AKA as The Marine Corp, Too Much Chrome, Too many crashes, The moron company, and many more.

Ive been with TMC for 2 years now and have no complaints. They take care of me and my truck. If you do your job right and report any and all problems you will have no problems. Sure all companies have there good and bad. You have to decide what you want in a company and find one that fits you. Last year was one of the worst years for truck drivers and I still made good $.

If you live in georgia and still want to be home on wkends I would go with % pay you will make out better than mileage. If home time isnt important than mileage would work, to maximize on mileage you want to be out for 3wks minimum. I dont see why you cant pull off 3500- 4000 miles a wk. I havnt brought home less than $1k a wk for the 5 yrs Ive been here and im home every wkend. Im on percentage though and work my tail off.

I'm thinking about this route also. Sounds like a good company to work for and the equipment is top notch.

Anybody have any recent news about TMC? How busy are you? how many miles a week are you pushing?

Also who are some good trainers there for when I have to go with a trainer and learn the whole flatbedding deal?

    Thanks all be safe

I been reading this thread for awhile and although my time with TMC was 15years ago it seems like its still the same.
1st I drove for TMC for nearly four years, and I really liked it. I left to take a high paying job in military training in Saudi Arabia. I have worked 10years for Qwest Communications in Arizona, great pay, but get treated like ####. So I am 50 and looking at getting back into Trucking. I have no current expirence so it will be starting over. If TMC hired in AZ I would go there again, don't really know about tarping at 50.
Too Much chrome? Well if you did not have a Blue Beacon reciept reguarly in your Trip-pak you would get fined by the owner. When we got the new 95s in(TMC was 100% KW T-600) I got a grass burner with no chrome, just Black and Shiney. All the old-timers complained about no stacks or other chrome. so they keep them all chrome now.Very Strict, but also very good.
My son was in a car accident in Louisville, KY, and in surgery. I was enroute to Warner-Robbins, GA. My FM, Carol, told me to park at the Cartersville, Ga Pilot and drop all my paperwork in Trip-pak. I had a ride to the airport and a ticket home waiting. When I came back to work I was never asked to repay the air fare. Its still about what you put in and your attitude.
