Wow...I'm curious why it would be that many...not passing tests, physical ability etc??? Or, are they at odds with the company's approach to training? By the way, I'm about 30% through my driver's training school and I like what I've heard about TMC. They are on my "short list" as well.
As long as you listen, follow their rules (no matter how stupid) and TRY YOUR BEST! You'll be fine. It's pretty apparent who REALLY wants to be here and who isn't applying themselves.
TMC puts out on average 20 drivers a week, most go with trainers. If you do the math, that's about 1100 drivers a year are released from training to go with trainers or to get their own trucks, if they already have flatbed exp. Turnover rate is about 90%. At most, 10% of the drivers sent out with trainers actually get their own trucks. Only 10% of those are still with TMC after a one year. So, when you get to orientation, look around. Most likely in the entire room, only 2-3 drivers in that room will still be with TMC after 1 year. BTW, not to scare anyone off, that's the industry standard. For some companies it's worse.
Some actually get out there with the trainer & discover that they don't like the trucking lifestyle or they dont like the constant pace that flatbed is like at TMC.
Ohh thanks for the advice. I'm a hard worker and just turned 26 and in good shape. It shouldn't be a problem for me lol. Ill work my butt off just to prove myself for them when I start the 3rd.
