Thanks for the 411 people.. Might run a check on TMC's finances here to see if it truly is going to go 'oh ####'. Just gave up a $60k a year job for not bending my integrity and kissin #####.. I seen TMC seemed to pay well, however ROEHL allowing the inverter is NICE. I don't really wanna be a "dock bumper" I guess it's called, because right now I can't back into a dock for #####. (3rd day of class training, still HIGHLY respectful of the machine). Should see how ROEHL handles flatbeds or curtains..
Again, thanks to those who have posted!

TMC does not have any financial problems. My paycheck is always direct deposited on time. Repairs are always made in a timely manner. My fuel card always works.

TMC also still requires us to wash our trucks every week. All together TMC has more then 2800 trucks. Each truck wash costs over $50. That comes to $140,000 per week, or more than half a million dollars a month.

If you can rationalize spending half a million dollars a month on appearance but not paying other bills at the same time go ahead. :biggrin_25512:

I had a link at one time to the TMC financial problems. They did file bankrupcy, but sometimes it is no more than a tool to get creditors to renegotiate the debt. Their trucks are still running, they are still clean, etc.. I dont run for TMC, but have considered them. I would still say they are on the short list of co. I would switch to if I do go. Cant help with the invertor question, but not having one would be a big negative for me. Unless of course there was an APU! I would suggest you talk to the recruiter, read up here and decide. The company is not likely to go away, so if you like what you hear/read, go for it!

TMC does not allow inverters. Too many trucks have caught fire when using them. You can get almost anything you want in a 12v model anyway.

Roehl has much better load resources for the driver that TMC. Also, you do less driving for free with Roehl.

TMC is flatbed or specialty flatbed only. Roehl has dry van, flat bed, curtain side, etc. With flat bed freight, if you're in a difficult area to get out of, you may be doing a good bit of driving for free. I once had to deadhead from Mansfield, TX to Pocatello, ID. I drove that for free. With Roehl, if you aren't happy with their flatbed division, you can try dry van, etc. Roehl likes to hire drivers who are looking for a home in which to finish out their career. TMC treats their drivers fairly decent as well, but don't always have the freight availability resources.

    Best of Luck!
