Everything that I know about TMC says that they pay for deadhead after 150 miles (I believe that's how it is). I'm not absolutely sure, but that's what I heard. If someone who works for TMC like Rawlco jumps in here, he can tell you for sure, but I highly doubt that TMC would have you drive from Tx to Id for free.
TMC VS. ROEHL? Any Info?

ROEHL is one of the most strictest companies.. They pay good but you mess up and they will let you go.

I went to tmc orientation, after 10 days and 2 times in a truck with two senior citizens trainers, both of whom gave me low scores for shaking the truck through the gears, the head of the driving training called me into his office and sent me home. Watch out wich senile old trainer they send you out with, they have a couple there that should be thinking of retiring. I am going to Roehl next. The orientation is shorter an hopefully its easier to make it through and get on the road with a trainer under the age of 76.

It doesnt matter how old the trainer is # TMC. If you cant shift a truck having being out with 2 trainers, TMC is not going too keep you around too tear up there gear.Sorry too burst your bubble. Just a FACT!

Driver, I realize that it must be very frustrating to be sent home, but, if you can't shift gears in a big truck under a load, you will be keeping someone's equipment in the shop. Those kind of repairs are not cheap. The only kind of trainer that will pass a driver who can't shift smoothly is too much of an idiot to be on the road himself. I'm not trying to put you down at all. One of the best jobs in the world to learn how to shift a truck smoothly is driving a dump truck. Maybe you should try to find a way to get some serious practice in before you continue to try to find an over the road job. Any driving job worth having is going to do the same thing to you that TMC has done. Please take these comments in the positive and constructive manner in which they are meant. I'm sure I can speak for all of us when I say we wish you only the best success in the trucking industry, but please also realize that being a professional also means being able to climb into any truck and drive it smoothly. Who's in it with you shouldn't matter. Also, you have to remember that most of these "old senile" drivers out here have experience a whole hell of a lot more than you will likely ever see. You may want to start out listening to those of us who have millions of miles more experience than do you. I'm sure you will learn something. When the day comes that you feel that there is nothing more that you can learn out on the road, that will be the day that you have become one of the most dangerous drivers out there. Anyone with decent experience will tell you this. Best of Luck.
