    That pretty much sums it up. Nice rides, great securement training, good trainers for those fresh outta school, 62mph. I did well for the year and a half i worked there.

    Flatbeds can be fun for all ages if one likes the work as long as one is in shape or one wants to get forced exercise. It breaks the monotony of just sitting in a cab all day, too. I'm middle age coming up on the better side of 50 and drove flatbed a few years ago for a short time until the company I was doing business with managed to secure a full-time driver. I hauled cargo trailers and toy haulers from the manufacturer to the dealerships. If I wasn't going tanker I'd go back to flatbed. I only did it here in the south so I'm sure the winters with the ice and snow can add some of that "fun" work I hear so much about from other roller-skate drivers.

    900,000- theres nothing like being 12'6" in the air trying to roll out tarps on a load of plywood covered with a sheet of plastic- in freezing rain. Lol. But if i didnt get a local ltl job id still be pulling a flatbed, it was fun, most of the time.
