i follow a tmc trainer that has a YouTube channel haha. i happened to hear on his most recent vid while i was in orientation that he had no trainee at the time. so i reached out to him personally.
tmc wanted to pay him for his content, but then hours of service came into play. so instead they gave him a new truck
Yeah, what's funny, is that, technically, whether TMC paid him or not, the fact that he gets money from You Tube for his content and the time that he uses to make that content, he still is working, that should be included in HOS. I hope these guys realize that, and if it's not reported and counted a working hours, could land them in hot water if something happens. Just sayin'.
well i finally hit the road with a load of lumber from ms to Iowa. wish we picked it up Friday like planned because then i would of got to go home and poke the wife for the evening haha. but that didn't happen. we are scheduled for dropoff around 2 this afternoon.
I remember having to do that once...into a jobsite off some street in the middle of Washington DC. Not the place to be operating if you don't know your way around, but somehow I got the sucker in there. (Okay, I may have cheated a little by peeking through the sleeper bunk window on my right side to see if I could track the trailer ) And as for those mudflaps...oh gosh, I lost track of how many times one or both ripped off on me. They look nice & pretty going down the road, but that metal bottom (added to the flaps themselves being more like fiberglass than rubber) is perfect for getting caught on something and ripping right out. Some guys (like me) learned to "tactically acquire/retain" a spare mudflap or a few just for that reason. Okay, this confirms what I thought: they actually did it. After I don't know how many years of lobbying from the drivers, TMC finally actually turned their trucks UP to 65mph. How long has that been the case? Back when I was still dragging cargo on those black & chrome turtles we plodded along at 62...
