I'll be watching your posts to see how you like it. I'd appreciate it if you would do some comparisons to your other RM units. Since this is my first RM, I have nothing to compare it to. Thanks in advance.

Mark what info do you have about map updates?
1. How often?
2. How many per year?
3. Is it always at the same time every year? (Such as every quarter or January and July)
Did I send you anything about the new bridges that are going up on the CA 41/46 West/East route? -
I just bought the TND 720 after using an old TND 500 for over 3 years and the differance is like night and day. The big 7" screen makes a big diiferance. I also want to point out that no GPS is perfect. It is a tool to assist drivers to get to their destinations. I just love it when I hear a driver tell me about how their GPS told them to go down a road and they got a ticket or they topped their trailer. I asked them was there a sign? Was there something that hinted that they were in a bad area ? They would'nt admit there was but i bet there was a sign or some other indicator. blaming your GPS for leading you down wrong road is like me hitting my thumb with a hammer and missing the nail. I don't blame the hammer I blame my bad aim lol. Using a GPS is great but use It don't let It use you
Mark Kling, SavageSam and aiwiron Thank this. -

2. See #1
3. Rand tries to keep it the same time frame each year.
I did not get anything about the bridges.
Just a reminder,, the 720 has the latest map dataset. 2013 would be the next one for the 720.
All other models the next map dataset is due out soon. I know it sounds like a broken record, but I cannot get a firm date yet. I would suggest that you update. You will be getting the latest in road data along with truck restrictions.
Thanks,

Due to many threads getting opened up for the TND, I try to keep support issues here.

The places like in OKC will be like that untill the roads are completed and the data is sent to the mapping companies. Once they have the data they enter it into their exhisting maps then send those maps out to GPS cpmpamies, map makers, etc...
Been an issue with GPS's for years. The OKC interstate issue is not RM, Garmin, Cobra, etc... fault. I actually laugh when I go thru there and it shows me off in a field or on a residential street as I roll done the interstate. I just make sure if I am getting off in that area to watch the road signs and have good directions. I always look in my map book, look at the GPS data, and google maps on my phone before I leave out each morning. I also get directions from my qualcomm and call the shipper/reciever if I need more clear directions. They are all tools to me and I use them all.
My favorite area is west side of Ft Worth TX. Now that gets fun since the signs are small and usually not until right where you need to get off the section of interstate your on. That construction is sooooo much fun. I think my RM 510 just gives up thru there. I actually think it told me "Forget this crap, your on your own" once. -
Mark,
Please tell me the procedure to obtain a repair order for my 700.
It is not covered under warranty and I need it repaired.
Thanks!
