Have a question. The other day went to use my TND740 and nothing. Wouldn’t turn on. First time I’ve had any problem. Only about 7 months old. Retired and don’t drive as much now so I’ll have times when I may go a few days off the road so I take the GPS with me and set aside till next time. I did plug it in to electric outlet and it did charge up and turned on. Contacted Rand and they told me it should have power to it at all times. I would think when I hook it up in the truck it would charge. Anybody else have this problem? Should I leave it plugged in at all times even when at home? If this is so I’m surprised the battery died even though I wasn’t using it. Thanks.

Power all the time? Seems silly... what portably tech device in the last 30 years needEd power 24/7? Even full computers can sit powered down and will wake up once turned on...
I seriously question the idea that it needs power 24/7... I’ve left mine in my truck, powered down, and returned to its batteries being dead and it still works... {knock on wood} -
I also think that their advice of 24/7 charging is bologna -
