It’s called tailings, basically waste fertilizer that’s brought back in to the facility after the killebrews are emptied out. It stinks, it’s heavy, and doesn’t come out great. How ya been? As you can tell, the Mack is still out of commission, going a bit stir crazy in this thing.

Hmm never heard of tailings, interesting. Dude we’re so busy in the city it’s insane. We’re just hauling everybody a little bit of #### just to hold them over and trying to cover a lot of bases. My dispatcher said the other day we could easily utilize 10 more local trucks and still be swamped. I was supposed to take a load of grinding balls to Climax today, but they are calling for snow and didn’t send me. I can’t chain with the full fenders I have and I dont have the auto chains that all the road trucks have. So dodged that bullet. Me and a few guys from work tho Sunday went to the NASCAR race in KCK. I’ve never been and don’t know anything about it but it was a good time. Hotter than the 9 circles of hell, and I got sunburnt pretty good but the people watching is second to none. People really get into that stuff man. I still think I’ll stick to SX tho.

Took me 2 hrs to get bean meal on this morning. I've been running mostly fertilizer an discard seed for a couple weeks now. Had to do something different to change it up.

I'm sure that being almost a flat top doesn't help much compared to the space in the mack.

Where is the Climax place you speak of? I used to go to Climax Mine out west of denver. It was on ute pass approx 20 miles west of parshall co.

By far the worst situation I’ve been in in a long time, if not the worst ever. Not to get too long winded, the guy loading these tailings is horrible, up until today I’ve been able to make do, with plenty of butt pucker moments, but today takes the cake. I have no clue why, but he can’t for the life of him put this stuff down the middle, and it’s super heavy, grossing 86K, and sticky, doesn’t like to move until the top. Y’all saw where I’m having to dump, literally 30 minutes of compromise and I finally got this mess out. Pictures don’t do it justice, but those of you on this thread can recognize the danger. Notice how it’s all stacked on the passenger side wall, with nothing on the drivers side, it was like this front to back. The one on Ute Pass we call Silverthorne. The Climax mine we go to is south on CO 91 at Fremont Pass. But someone said years ago it was at a different location, so I bet you’re right.

I wouldn't haul that stuff like that.
I'd let the loader get away with that once, maybe twice if he was really trying but just not getting it.
After that, the load goes back on the slab. No yelling, no cussing, just a chance to either load it right or not load it at all.
We used to haul ash out of a co-gen plant and they wouldn't tarp the stockpile when it rained. The stuff had about the same consistency as oatmeal. We lost the haul when we refused side heavy loads three days in a row. The guy that took the haul from us laid three trailers down the first week and two the second week. Then he tried hauling it on a click-floor but it gummed everything up.
The co-gen plant eventually went out of business and nobody was sorry to see them go.

Yikes. Stuff like that sucks. It’s one thing to be loaded heavy to one side, or for the commodity to be sticky. When it’s loaded to one side AND doesn’t break loose till you’re almost top stage, that’s a recipe for laying one over. Kudos on not flopping it.

At what point does the loader get handed a shovel to make things right. I bet it would only take one time.
