When I went there it was my first time and I do my typical park out of the way and see where they want me thing. First dude that came out LITERALLY had on overalls with at least no shirt underneath, god knows what was happening downstairs, and a rebel flag cap with a raccoon tail coming out the back. God bless rednecks is all I have to say. And they weren’t bashful about loading. I got to ripple and I got the “overweight warning” on the computer. I meant to catch you before you got up here but I haven’t been on here much. I was at Ripple this week and they are full man. They had me dump outside. Which I’m sure you know but if not, the further back you angle toward the quonset hut the flatter it is. Your truck will still be on the hill and it’ll look terrible in your mirrors but your trailer is level. I don’t envy you getting your new ride in that lot, however. That place needs to be about 10x’s as big as what it is and the same for the entry and exit.

I have never dumped inside o_O its always under that quansit thing. So you have done more then i have lol. And yea ripple has always sucked. Its even worse with my new rig. i gotta turn into that alley then back up into the road to get alongside that curb and jack it at the last second getting my wheels up on the grass then go in at an angle and i STILL barely fit. On the way out i gott back my trailer onto the right of the scale and go at an angle and jump the curb past the sign. The pull across to that 3 ton street. Back up alongside that curb and then turn and jump that curb into the grass and i have like 2 inches of clearance with my trailer and the 1 way sign. Blah. New market is almost as bad getting on that screwy ### scale.

As for the dude with the rebel cap. Yup yup same guy greeted me XD he was wearing a deer hide shirt though. Same overalls though. Also no worries on the meetup it will happen sooner or later. I just tend to always be flogging my rig and rarely spend more then a few hours in a single place.

Well the Quonset hut thing is what they call “inside”. They dumped me in the bin next to it which is even more conveniently located on their slanting parking lot. But yea dude I do the same thing you just said coming and going, but I bet you’re alot closer to the fence getting in and that #### electric pole leaving. As for New Market I don’t even jack with that south bound scale. I go right across the street, untarp, cross over and get on the belt and they weigh me there then tell me where to go. And if someone is on the belt I turn into their middle drive and face south on their screwy scale. It’s easier to get off it that way than get on it the other. At least for me I think so. But you are right that place is dumb too how they set it up. It was even dumber when they didn’t have that belt scale and loaded you while you were in a hole off your gauges.
Everytime I’d think I was good and jump on the screwy scale I was either 73,000 or 93,000.

Lol my new truck doent have guages yet. They are happily sitting in a box at home and showed up literally an hour after i left. So much for next day air lol. Gotta wire them in when im back. So doing a lot of tounge in cheek guesswork and cat scales right now. As for that pole. 2 inches lol i habe 2 inches of clearance and that is with me in the grass. The one way sign i was talking about is the one nailed to that pole. This one here.

    Screenshot_20241208_153651_Maps.jpg

And thats with me IN the grass on the other side of the street. Only way i can make that turn. Just glad this truck has a good foot of extra ground clearance. I gotta abuse it there and woulda torn the oilpan off my pete trying it.

As for the newmarket south scale. Its not that bad in the daylight. Just get into the oncoming lane after its clear and cut over then do a J turn. At night is a whole other thing though. Im defo going to be adding a bunch of LEDs to my truck since i dont have a peep window or hood mirrors anymore. They are on the list somewhere between an apu and matching steer tires since i currently have 10 diffrent tires on this rig XD they are all new sure but yes it came like that.

@Arctic_fox What scales did you order and do they run off of the air bags on the truck and trailer.

Peterbilt Load Pressure Tractor And Trailer Dual Display Gauge

Picked up a set of telteks that run off the airbag weight on 2 seperate "circuts" for lack of a better term for the air. Had the analog versions of these in my pete and decided to try the digital type.
