Panhandlers are easy. Loose the bleeding heart. Instant immunity.

I come from a single parent home where mom couldn't get any goobermint assistance because she refused to quit her job. She didn't do anything wrong, dad just decided one day that family life wasn't his gig, so he abandoned wife and kids.
We made it. Noone helped us. I worked 3rd shift in high school. No stealing. No panhandling. No shame in that game.

There are always other options. Thing is, you have to get up early in the morning and make it happen.

Handing people money to "help" them doesn't help them. I get up and go to work. I will be dayumned if I give money I earned away to someone who for whatever reason decided that they can't work.

I will never give money to someone on the streets. More often than not it goes to drugs or alcohol. If they are truly hungry then they'll accept my offer to buy them a meal, but strangely almost none ever accept. Walking around my hometown downtown I'll frequently leave a restaurant with carryout and offer it to the first hungry looking homeless I see and almost all of them have been gracious and happy to have a meal. Those that ask because they're "hungry" usually just want money. Those that don't ask, but look like they could be hungry, usually are, and are happy to get food.

Otherwise I'll donate goods and food to the local charities and shelters.

I have a different perspective I guess. My brother is an addict, ex-con, mentally ill, and an all around not-good person. He's been helped more from the missions and men's rehab centers than ever giving him money has helped him.

Yes, everyone knows that truck drivers are stupid. That's why they come to the truck stops. So many fools in 1 place, it's easy to work a scheme.

"Sir, my car ran outta gas and my wife needs to go to the hospital"

Call 911. If your wife needs help, a hospital cannot refuse her.

"Sir, could you help me out. I am a driver, I got stranded when my company shut down. I'm trying to get enough money to go home."

What's the name of your company?

    "Ummm,....Cannon Express."

They went out 15 years ago. You've been stranded for 15 years? Try again.

    "But Six, it's Christmas!"

And what happens December 26, besides the end of being bombarded by the same stupid songs over and over? It's not your problem then, right? Christmas is over.

It's those bleeding fools fault the schemers target truck stops. The worse thing is, bleeders feel foolish and so they try to pressure others to be just as stupid as they are. "But it's CHRISTMAS! It's the season of giving."

Isn't it the Christian book that says that that if a person is unwilling to work, he shall not eat? Doesn't sound like those Writers were Bleeders either.

"Six, we knew that you would say that. All people like you quote that verse and use it for their reason not to be giving."

I went to the WaffleHouse, had a good breakfast and gave the waitress a $10 tip. I gave to the needy. The bad thing about it is, you bleeders will stiff the people that are trying to earn a living so you can give your money to schemers. How fulfilling life must be for you guys.
