I make 50k and have my own family to take care of. Not taking food out of my kids mouth to feed someone else. If they really want good there are soup kitchens, churches, food pantry, and plenty of places where they can get food. I would much rather donate to an charity. Also the government gives away food stamps, welfare, housing....... Anyone poor can get food stamps, but I know people on food stamps who beg for money for drugs and alcohol. I have people come to me at the store and say I will buy your food with my link card (food stamps) if you buy me cigarettes and beer. Hell NO

I agree with you. I don't give to charities or panhandlers. My tax money is supposed to provide for the needy through social services programs. I can't control the politicians that give my tax money to the military industrial complex instead of needy Americans. The panhandlers should go to Washington, DC and state capitols and panhandle there.

If only the truly needy and people unable to work were on social welfare there would be more than enough. But there are top many scammers and lazy people living off the government by choice.
I see people all the time at the grocery store get out of a car nicer than mine, with nice wheels, expensive clothes and shoes, newest Iphone, then pay with food stamps

Part of the problem is that companies view employees as being disposable, and the unemployment office will just give lectures on networking more to find another job. This doesn't work if your industry has been outsourced. Millennials like to job hop often, so they assume that everyone prefers to move from job to job every year or other year. You are told that you are overqualified or under qualified, depending on the position. It is easy to become depressed. A person that is needy would be happy for the offer of food. I donate time to the cat shelter and a couple of dollars to a legit charity like Salvation Army, and would donate food only if someone asked.

Absolutely. 2 hours is more than reasonable if someone is getting help.

On my way home if I saw a person at an exit looking for money when I got up to them I would give them any left over sandwitces I had. One time a dude had a signs looking for a pair of socks. I passed him turned the corner and gave him a clean pair.

I own the "Panhandlers Cardboard and Sharpie Store" everyone purchases their supplies through me. I also came up with the phrase " Anything Helps" so anytime that's used to beg for money they have to pay me a royalty. I'm putting my daughter through college and I don't have to lift a finger. "God bless"

I'm all for giving food or clothing, but not cash. When they insist on cash, they get nothing.
