I have been dissed by all of TQL (and some undercover phone tapping gang ) since over a week now. I have not been able to book load to MA, NJ , CT RI NY etc. Some of the brokers I have tried to work with are C H Robin, Austin Frt, TQL. but no luck booking for close to $2/mile going North East. Any one else having the same problems? Who picked up the load fro Austin Frt out of Austin TX to MA on the week of 06/11/2012 to 06/15/2012. Pls see attached. How much did you pick it up for??

Nope, I get offered $3/mile minimum to anything north of NJ. Maybe you ticked them off when you got up there and realized that the rates coming back were crap?

Or maybe he accused them of tapping his phone and sending their spies to surveil him...

Had a TQL load that was to be p/u from Long Beach from a trans-load carrier....

Got there at 1000....Sat in the middle of the street for four hours waiting for trucks to get loaded....
Then they called the truck behind me to load....It was WTH?

Turns out my load was still in Open-Top "Cans" and cabled......
After they loaded the other truck....The carrier took lunch......Then two more drivers for the same type of load showed up....
I called the associate at TQL and explained what was going on....Sent pictures by email....
He offered to pay Detention Time for time sitting over three hours......

Well when the trans-load company started to unload the product out of the cans....They blew a hydraulic line in the lift......Took them another two hours to get it fixed.....

When everything was finally separated from the cans.....I had two parts of three...One driver had two parts of three....and the other driver had one part of two.....

A fourth driver who never showed.....Well his complete load was there.....In the yard ready to go at this point...

The rest of our loads were in another yard 14 miles away......

The owner of the trans-load company said he would have the other can brought to the LB yard by 0900 the next morning...

So I called TQL back up and explained what was up....TQL offered me the detention pay and to pick up the load the next day....I got him to pay me $500 for my "lost" day....

This morning he called me up at 0700 and said he talked to his customer and said the most she would be willing to pay was only $200......

I told him Bull shot.....I lost a day and...When I do drop that load....I will be behind for my next p/u in Denver....And then I would have to sit over the weekend.....

I hate sitting....Every day not moving under a load is a loss of $500-600 for me.....

So now I'm p/u tomorrow....Getting the $500...The load now can be dropped on Monday....That will give me time tomorrow or Friday to see If I can get an LTL to augment the run.....

I do get good and sometimes great rates with TQL.....

But sometimes they and their customers don't actually know much about the trans biz.....

I try to educate them if they will listen....I finally have convinced them and about three other brokers I go through, that you can't drive the LA metro area on Monday at 1500 (Rush 3 hours) and be in Denver on Tues before noon on Tuesday.....That....Was a freakin' battle there......
