I appreciate it. Long day, so Im just getting back here.

Freightwhipper, Crete? Lol run the knox-ohio-pa freight train much? I feel like thats all I do. Lol seems they run you in one area, then switch it up to another. Im thinking that just might be the freight patterns, so kinda the first thing Im going to look at. Follow the money! And...no #### PA on the weekend. They tried to pull that crap on me this past one. Pick up in Pittston on sunday, del in greensboro, nc on tuesday...no. More like get my ### there late saturday, beg to get loaded, and tcall that ###### on sunday at the yard in greensboro, lol

Gentleroger- yeah yeah yeah, lol. Im a numbers guy, so the first thing I did was a side by side comparison of different lease offers I had, including schneider. Dollar for dollar, the schnieder lease itself is a bit more expensive. Having said that, the tractor is also coming in at about 10-15k less than average market, and there is no down payment. So I was happy to see, at least in the case with my tractor, We are talking a few thousand in difference, not tens of thousands. Made me smile. Lol

Sicksfeet - I appreciate the worda of wisdom, man. From what I am understanding, the most important figure is revenue per mile, not revenue per trip, or miles run. So I would be better to take 3 400 mile runs at 1.80 per run, than a 1200 mile run at say, 1.40. As long as deadhead made sense. Isbthis the right way to look at it?
You're a rider right? Crotch rocket? I used to have a suzuki tl1000r, yoshimira carbon pipes and header, milled with a fuel commander. Torque for days! Sold that and bought a busa, and went nuts. Now, I have a custom m90. Wanted to try the cruiser life. Lol. But will jump at another tlr if I can ever find one......

Well I was a Shaffer driver based out of Lenoir city, guess that still made me a Crete driver as it's simply their reefer side. I did pull a few Dry van loads a couple times. However yes saw lots of PA and OH but mainly PA. I saw that depressing New Kingstown terminal far more than my base out of Lenoir city which is a sad statement.
Now here I've been in OH and PA more than anywhere else because it's been good to me.
Btw I agree with Sicksfeet however also remember taking the best rate isn't always the best decision.. locations weigh as much as the rate. Many times it might be smart to pass on a high $ load to get an okay rate simply putting you in a great area. All parts of the endless things you'll be learning through experience over time.
Being you're a numbers/Business guy you're way ahead of the game and should do fine.

That's def one way to look at it. Each person has different financial needs to meet and/or expect. The best way I've been able to break it down is a base revenue I want to meet or exceed that I can do in 1 day. Of course you want to do it at the best overall rate and least miles, but things don't always go as planned...that being said, I book based on revenue per day, at the end of the week I figure my total rate per mile and all that fun stuff. Things can change load preference in an instant ie: breaking point with a certain region, the need to get home asap, load cancellations, weather, empty hunts, drop and hook changed to live loads/unloads and on and on and on. That's why I only focus on total revenue day to day. You'll find a groove, it's going to take time though. Keep that in mind.

Yep gsxr 1000 turned drag bike. I had an 06 busa but never modded it. Ran out of money lol. Had to sell both a few years back. Miss my bikes, but now I got a new toy to mod.

Congrats & welcome. I'm in my 3rd week on the choice program & I really like it. As far as numbers go, I have a revenue per week I try to hit with a certain avg rate per mile. I love my Cascadia. Nothing like getting 9 mpg running 65 with 27k in the box. Never thought I would see that happen. Drive it right & don't be out trying to set land speed records & there's no reason these trucks shouldn't have a minimum avg mpg of 8 mpg.

Im with ya RStewary. I have a 2015 evo now, and average 7.8mpg. I have put 96000 miles on it and they are all mine. We do a lot of heavy loads. Most over 40k in the box. Lots of paper. Or kelloggs, and I usually end up in the mountains, so I really cant complain about mpg. Even with my own truck, I plan on keeping it at 65 on the high side.
