Thank You All!!!!!!!
I got to my truck today. I left Missoula this morning with a really nice couple, Lee and Chloe. They are an older couple with tons of great stories and info to share. We drove from Missoula down to the SLC terminal, it was a beautiful ride!!!
Overall I am pleased with my truck, it does have a few issues that need to be addressed:
Flat rear drive tire, hope to get that fixed in the morning
Broken drivers side door handle, can't open it from the inside. I could run with it, but don't think it would be all that safe if I had to make a quick escape out of the truck. I also don't think the DOT would approve of it, hope to get that fixed as well in the morning.
Like I said, I am pleased over all. I was expecting the worst and hoping for the best. The inside is really clean, the last driver seemed to take good care of it.
If every thing goes right I can get my first load on Monday.American-Trucker Thanks this. -

I am rolling big hoopty style in a Freightliner Columbia. It is truck 1727. I am not too worried about people knowing my truck number at this point. It would be cool to run into you one day!American-Trucker Thanks this. -
Sweet, I'll keep an eye out for ya.

Well I will be in SLC for at least one more day. I got my flat fixed first thing this morning, that was an experience. Long story short, I felt like a dumb a.. I managed to stuble through the process and need to get some t-check when the terminal opens in the morning.
After my tire was fixed I had a chance to do a complete inspection of my truck. It looks great under the hood and runs pretty smooth. It does have a few issues that need to be addressed. I already brought up the drivers door handle. I am sure people look at me funny when I roll the window down and stick my arm out and open it from the outside. Can't wait for that to get fixed. The other issues I noticed during my inspection is: The city horn does not work, the power mirrors do not work and the inside/outside temp gauge does not work.
Is the city horn not working something they can ding me for in an inspection? I am not all that worried about the mirrors, I can adjust them the old fashion way. It would be nice to be able to adjust them for a better view while backing but I will survive. It would be cool to get the temp gauge fixed before the fall.
Once I have the money, I really need to get an inverter and a fridge in here. I asked dispatch if I could roll to walmart earlier today to buy a cooler and stuff. I can't keep buying food and drinks at the truck stop across the street. The walmart out here has no truck parking so I had to park across the street, no big deal. It was also nice to see how the truck drove before I got my first load. I got stuck at a 7 track railroad crossing for about 20 min and made a mental note to never go that way again.
That is about all for now, think I am going to edit some more pictures and watch a movie.
You guys/gals drive safeAmerican-Trucker Thanks this.
