I set up with IL and Riverlink (bridges around Louisville) to pay by plate. I figured I would owe for going thru those areas and not paying. Nether one is showing that I owe anything. Do they grab the plate on front of the truck or the one on the trailer?

Bridge will catch both. Have had trucks use it and have never got a notice.

I did a toll by plate once in Dallas (in a car). I finally received a bill in the mail 9-10 months later.

Don't think just because they're slow on posting what you owe that it isn't coming.

Maybe. I did the Dallas north tollway about 10 years ago in my car, still no bill.

Tractor plate, Illinois is being less agressive because of covid. They were hitting mine, haven't been on it lately.

Driver in NY put his plate on a hinge, ran fishing line from cab to plate , would raise the plate when going across the bridge, not sure how he got caught.

He was a local guy who simply went over the bridge about the same time everyday.

I knew a fellow in Illinois that used medal blanks the size of a quarter, the tube is clear in the building that the coins go to. After he got caught, they gave him a tour.

Tractor plate is what is registered on my rig and what the cameras bill me on. They have the capability to photograph both front and rear views. I have a transponder from River Link and also my carrier registered my tractor plate with Best Pass. When I have a unit over the cab the Transponder doesn’t pick up, but the plate is captured and I am billed thru Best Pass. When the system first started I was billed as a passenger car for several crossings. All good things come to an end, but I was never charged for the miss classified crossings.
