Just had to look it up...PA does charge by weight class & AXLE. Their site won't total up road schedules w/o axles selected. Which explains why they were always leaning out the window staring at my old trailer. Maybe it is like OH with the high 4/low 5 class, high 5 low 6 class separations?

I did your homework. Its 774 miles on the tolls
Go I-70 to I-79 south to I-68 east to I-81 north to exit 52A (hwy 11 north to New Kingston)... 826 miles
So you are talking $30- $40 extra in fuel compared to $80 in tolls.
The northern route is even further.
I like I-68 through Maryland. Pretty country. -

Not a good place to be in the winter during a snow storm though!
Fine for this time of year.
Hubby came through on that one night during a snow storm. He almost didn't make it, and not through any fault of his own. -
