I would try it to make she it works before you got to sleep for the night. Good luck.

Solenoid is working. I need to see what the ECM is seeing at this point. I should be able to plug in and take a long around in a couple weeks hopefully.

A 3406 will cook itself idling with no fan even in cold weather? I used to take the mechanical fan off of my 7.3 in winter and it would never overheat idling. Oil temp would hover right around 200 very close to the t-stat set point.

I have a 3506e as well. My fan kicks on at 206 and at 216 the light comes on. I have a 190 thermostat.

If it means anything to you, im a big fan of 2 stage clutch fan. Kitmasters. I run one of those now and you never hear clutch fan kick on anymore. Constant cooling of fan at 300 rpm. Keeps condenser cool without having to kick on clutch fan as well.

It’s an electrical issue, something is not telling the ecm to turn the fan or or if the ecm is working correctly then he has a bad wire. He’s not going to know that until he knows if the ecm is commanding the fan on or not.

What you’re thinking is the engine is overheating while going down the road.
