I think a lot depends on O/O vs company driver and what company. Some companies do not want the driver repairing anything, some just want very minor work.striker and heavyhaulerss Thank this.

Besides typically wrenches, hammer, crow bar, lights, bulbs, seals, electrical tape, duck tape, air pressure hose (for tires), extra oil and antifreeze are great to have.

two flashlights
vise grips
multiple types of pliers including pocket multi tool
small wrench set (minimum is 1/2" 9/16" and 3/8 7/16 for adjusting brakes)

Along those lines, I always carry a heavy duty 36" manhole hook with me. Incredibly useful for many things. The same thing with a good size pipe wrench, which doubles as hammer in my case. Ha

Oh come on, all anyone needs is a smart phone, where have you been?

Wait did anyone mention valve cores...

I'd go bigger with the wrenches myself. Also I'd get 2 large adjustables for fittings. Magnetic base flashlight is a lifesaver. Stick it on something metal and leaves you with 2 free hands to work with. Propane torch is always handy. Misc. air fittings and heat shrink butt connectors as well as maybe a roll of 14 ga. wire.

My tool kit is my cell phone with the number to ryder truck rental. My company does not want me doing anything else. I am local and hourly so I dont mind waiting 3 hours for roadside assistance.styro and GenericUserName Thank this.
