What an ignorant statement, I trained and never expected my student to sleep on the top bunk while the truck was moving. I had them lay their sleeping bag over my bedding and use their own pillow. It’s hard enough to get adequate rest on the bottom bunk of a moving truck, if you force your student to sleep on the top bunk of a moving truck, your not only putting your personal safety at risk but others as well.

It's just the way the OP delivered the message, overly dramatic and insisting that since he couldnt do it, it must be impossible that is generating those responses. It sounds like if he was literally being tossed that hard to match his description, I'd assume damage was being done to the truck also. Not that I'm an expert in truck mechanics, far from it, but come on.

Brother, I was tossed hard many times. Enough to make me whimper and sigh and one time so hard I checked my ribs to see if any where broken. When you time one big bump with another, the first throws your body off the bed and as you're coming back down, the truck hits a second bump, with up G-forces, it is literally like being kicked. The top bunk creates 3 times the G-forces at the bottom bunk. There is no exaggeration here. As for me, I'm 6ft tall, 220 pounds of solid muscle. Not bragging, just describing myself as I'm no wimp. I've trained with weights all my life. And yeah, it kicked the crap out of me being up there.

oh nah that’s disgusting. He’s one of those people that “store” his piss bottles? I can understand using one but once you found a trash can that thing gets disposed off immediately. Never know if it rolls off somewhere in the truck and you accidentally rupture the bottle.

I will say the top is good for storage. Now that I am in a truck that doesn't have one, I am missing it.

It's illegal to drive a big truck while fatigued. You will not sleep well on the top bunk while the truck is moving, so you will be driving fatigued and illegally.

Thats bc you're doing it wrong. Top bunks do come with restraints and those thin foam mattress that the company gives arent enough for a comfortable sleep on neither the top or bottom bunk. Regardless of top or bottom bunk, you'll have to add extra cushioned hybrid mattress. Its just weird to want to sleep in others peoples bed. Let alone the extra work needed to transition back and forth. Your being a cheap skate by not investing in your own comfort bc the top bunk does come with restraints. And its rude as hell.
