Was gonna say...Something like that on an 18 would not likely last...
Which reminds me......How much metal needs to be under an ant to make a noticeable range difference..Im lookin around on the net for ideas that might help but not be odd or a big wind drag/heave..bored silly Thanks this. -
This is the finished product prior to removing Copper from the coil to bring it back to Resonance.
Total height top to bottom is 4 foot 2 inches.

Wasn't what I thought. Your design appears to be a capacity hat loaded vertical.

The best-performing antennas often are the heaviest with the largest wind load.
If it isn't big and heavy chances are pretty good it's not a very efficient antenna
