This stainless steel antenna weighs twice as much as the aluminum monkey made.

Like I predicted, it went from resonant @ 27.185 without the cap hat to 19.205 mhz with the cap hat. Removing 3 feet of copper from the coil brought it back to resonance @ 27.185 mhz.

Putting a heavy and high wind load ant on a mirror arm will dang near rip the door off these new trucks..
A heavy high wind load any will have to be mounted to a moose bar or direct to chassie....

That is why you need a heavy duty bracket.

Big and heavy only means more bandwidth. Bandwidth don't mean a thing to 99% of those with radios.

Again, to the OP and every other real truck driver reading... 5/8 wave glass antenna as tall as you can run, it's about the best you can do.

Forget all the magic potion, esoteric, BS in this thread.

Big and heavy has nothing to do with bandwidth. Most of my antennas are narrow banded for greater efficiency.

Yes it does Chop, and you #### well know it. The more tuned metal you hang, the greater the bandwidth, can't escape physics with any magic or theory. Hell, even by your own post That thing has over 2mhz bandwith.

You are claiming stuff to be facts...... which formula did you use to decide the gauge, size, diameter of that hat? At the end of the day, antennas are simple math formulas, that is a fact. Back up your facts.
