I've got three Wilson Lil' Wil's and have had nothing but good luck with them. Like you said, at highway speeds they're still where you put them.
-
I'm not a big fan of whip antennas.I find that traveling at highway speeds, the whip is angled maybe 45 degrees back. You can't possibly be transmitting properly like that.

I just put one on the Buick this morning. I don't expect miracles but for something temporary it should suffice.

The products from that company appear to be of quality. Keep us posted (thx).

It feels nice and solid. Antenna efficiency will be drastically less than the roof of an SUV though.Slowmover1 Thanks this.

The Spare Parts Box: filled by stuff of quality though may not be ideal. In a pinch . . . .

I had to cut the notch a bit so my LMR240 would fit.

Another SO239 without notches for the standard PL259. I would like to sit in front of whoever signs off on that junk and ask them why they think it's a good idea. Why do I want to spend time making a "finished product" work properly so I don't risk damaged equipment.

Have you seen the bottom of the Wilson 5000? Notches would have no place on that mount. You screw it down until it's tight regardless of whether or not Notches are there or not. It's not designed for a pl259 coaxial connector. Notches would serve no purpose on that mount..Last edited: Oct 31, 2018
