There isn't going to be a better option but I'd skip the 3-4 months of sharing space with someone who probably doesn't want to train but needs to to make up for money they can't make because they are being taken advantage of like everyone else. Hate to be negative but the reality is these mega carriers are set up to use you up with no regard for you so to be in a tight space with someone you can't vibe with just makes it worse. Also you do not need a year. The smaller companies will hire you with 6-10 months and pay you more. Learn as much as you can on your own you will probably have to anyway. Get in and get out. Just always pay attention and take your time when you need to, always better to make people wait than make a mistake. Good luck

 

Good idea to keep looking. I got my best two jobs off Craigslist. Might look there.
Between Prime and Knight. I'd choose Knight. I've known people whom Prime screwed. Loads not there they promised. Double and triple brokered loads leaving nothing for the driver. High pressure to lease. Then with one in particular, they kept giving him lease trucks that were lemons. Drained all his money. He finally left Prime. You want to meet him? Look up Trucker Brown on youtube.
I've heard nothing like these examples from Knight/Swift.

 

If I was you, Knowing what I know about this industry. I WOULD NEVER drive/work for any company nor corporation, period. How can anyone accept or agreed to get slavery pay and treatment???? seriously!!!
If you guys are not going to make at least 8K monthly flat rate, plus 401k, vacation, medical insurance, no one should be driving for anyone!
stop perpetuating legal slavery!!! how can you accept get pay by miles????? are you guys out your #### mind ????

 

All those problems you posted don't affect company drivers.

 

Even as soon as new driver orientation. They're pressuring them to lease.
