Lots of rest areas out west have storm shelters. Even in the east if they dont have a storm shelter get inside the building get to middle of the room. If you are by an underpass get under that. Then storm sewer or ditch. Then worst casr scenerio either try out running it or get out and lay in open field away from trees.

Ive been through several of them over the years, including Katrina. Dont take no chances if you end up in one, find you a safe place to get. They can make a pretzel out of a truck. Katrina was a Hurricane, but theres no difference between the two when it comes to the damage they can cause.

Just pull under an overpass and Park keep in mind everyone else is going to want to do the same thing so make sure you're one of the first people to grab a good parking spot.
