In light of the tornado's, I was thinking if you got sucked up and spit out down the road while driving. Would you get a preventable accident put on record? I would think if you are crossing an open area and you got blown over by high winds, that would be a preventable? I wouldn't wish that on anyone but i was just wondering.

Stump Thanks this. -
Years ago, a driver at a company I worked at was let go with a prevenable because he did not shut down, even though dispatch told him to run.

First question would be "Why were you driving down the highway?" "You should have known that you are in tornado alley." Driver you could have avoided this if you were in another state when that tornado came through.

If you are aware of whats happening the safe side is to completely shutdown. As one driver posted the big question is " why where you driver in the environment?" even if told to do so by a dispatchter it is YOUR responsiility as a driver to make the correct call. The best trick when a dispatcher tells you to driver against your wishes try to get them to put that on the OBC. if available... I have asked this before and they told me to forget it.
