I'm soon going to start swift with starting at the academy. Seems to me though that they are bringing new drivers in all the time.. could this be the cause for shortage? lol Just sayin.. I am however greatful there is a company that is continuously looking for more drivers in this economy!
Totally bummed

Its because Swift can't keep drivers longer than 6-12 months. Now i'm sure there drivers who been with Swift for few years or more but not as many as drivers that stay on with them.Swift is know as a starter company or aka training company.Newbies come in get there training stay on 6-12 months to get there experience and then move on to a higher paying company.Swift starts you out at .26cpm where after 6 months experience you can go to a another company and make anywhere from .34 - .43cpm.

Plenty of companies are always hiring.. it's a high turnover industry. If you get put on a board with a dispatcher (DM) you can work with, Swift is just as good a place as any to start with. Don't be afraid to grab your balls and stand up for yourself if you get put in a bad spot. Have the right attitude and mindset, and you'll do just fine.
