I do, but I highly doubt I'd actually go through with that. If its illegal then it seems a bit shady trying it.

Thousands of trucks have been fixed this way. Its how you make newer truck more reliable.

If you're really worried about the "legalities" of such things, I don't know what to tell ya. Personally I dont need bureaucrats thinking they know whats best for semi trucks. They're the whole reason these crap systems exist.

Do you idle constantly? That's one of a few things that kills emissions engines

Harrison Glider kit trucks you get new truck and the pre emission engine. I had 2000 Volvo with 1999 S60 detroit the truck ran the Landstar ELD. Not sure if thing change since I was their.

I'm back driving a company truck now, 2017 Freightliner DD13 got the truck new and now has 277,000. So far they only replaced 2 sensor. The truck does automatic parked Regen if needed. The truck has Optimize Idle system from the 90s. The truck will start the engine for heat or a/c or battery charging or engine oil temp. So it get some idle time, then every 6 hours of idle time the computers will do automatic parked regens. They raise the engine to 1250 rpm and it only takes 20 minutes.

So basically it only does automatic parked regens during a 34 hour restart. Because normally the engine does not idle more then 6 hours during a 10 hour break.

Not really. I'm eager for keeping maintenance repairs down. I can honestly say I baby this truck. Currently 40 degrees outside and the truck is off. Truck was old and had problems when I first purchased it. It had 473,000 Miles already on it

I should add this, I had 2012 Freightliner with 675,000 and DD15 the DOC filters in the emission box went bad. They can't be changed because they are built into the Detroit One Box system. They wanted $12,000 to replace the emission box.

    Thanks!

I’ve had old equipment, I’ve had middle age equipment, and now brand new equipment. I’ve had 07, 10, 13, and now 17 emissions engines. All Cummins. I’ll just say so far I’m very thankful to finally be buying new trucks and this latest emissions is much better. Not having crap break all the time is nice too. All the stupid little repairs add up fast and cost a lot of time.

The old trucks were preemissions and were fine for local but just too unreliable for regional or OTR for me personally. Not due to the engines but the truck itself being old. Obviously there are many people out there running old iron very successfully. I doubt many running fleets of old iron though.
