On more than one occasion I’ve been st a truck stop when a tour bus rolls in. I don’t like having them their as they mob the bathroom and store. One bus is bad enough but in one instance 4 buses showed up with sports teams. It’s a truck stop not a bus stop. I remember stopping at one truck stop an independent off the northway in Albany NY which I can’t remember the name of had s sight saying no buses.

My mistake, wanting a grilled chicken sandwich. They were calling all the ready orders out in Spanish. ######Suspect Zero and bzinger Thank this. -
The t/s in Vado, NM at exit 156 or so on I-10 is a known bus stop. If I pull in and see a bus there, I go around the traffic circle on to the NTS around the corner! Normally it's a great stop with cheap fuel, but when the buses stop with their Mexican nationals it's a terrible stop! Nothing against our Southern neighbors, but apparently queuing is a completely foreign concept for these folks. You wait in line to complete diesel purchase, at fuel desk, and you are bombarded with people trying to cut in front of you at every moment. Its actually an insane scene! I always imagine this is what bread lines looked like. Let us all wait patiently in line for our turn is all I'm saying. Never again will I stop there if I see a bus in the lot. Oh, the horrors!

I don’t care for having to deal with them either but they have a need to stop, too. Plus those passengers are on a very tight stop schedule. I’m sure they don’t enjoy the experience any more than you.
And there are very few “truck stops” anymore. We must share the road with others and it stands to reason we must share the available facilities with them (busses). No sense in trying to fight it unless you want to fight an unwinnable battle.polo king 92, stwik, Omega1 and 5 others Thank this. -
Never ran into a bus full of Mexicans but it’s usually a bunch of high school / college sports teams or foreign tourists. If they need to stop stop at a rest area on interstate. I love the sign at the independent stop in Albany no buses.
PSM379 Thanks this. -
At least bus drivers usually have some degree of common sense and courtesy when it comes to parking and getting fuel, etc. the worst is when you get the family caravan of rv’s and boats and such pulling into the truckstop. And don’t even get me started on uhaul drivers. Talk about chaos.

This is one of the the few independent truckstops left with a real diner that is clean with great food and great waitresses.
I have frequented this truck stop for more than thirty years and while most truckstops I have been to in that time have declined seriously this gem has not.
As you stated with the no buses sign they really care about professional drivers.PSM379, Tb0n3, polo king 92 and 5 others Thank this. -
Bus passengers tend to spend money, not just wander in for a dump and take up space in parking lot.

I think the worst encounter was at the TA in Duncan, SC. I walked in about 5 am, and 3 buses showed up at once. They were loaded with the Mexicans who work in the fields in NC. They had a line out of the door waiting to use the restroom. Eventually, the person who cleans the showers had to open up a few showers to alleviate the crowd.
And don t you just love it when you pull into a truck stop to grab something to eat, and a greyhound shows up, or is already there?
