Pilot Rialto, I was parked in the Reserved and fell asleep. I have parked here before. But I woke up and left. Went home and fell back to sleep and cleaned house and washed and so on. At 20:30, I saw my Truck moving. Drove to Pilot and it was gone. I followed it to the Tow yard and called. They said they are not open til Monday and by appointment only. I emailed my Proof of ownership and CDL.
I was there before and left and returned and there still wasn't anywhere else to park. I planned to go home and shower and return but it didn't work out that way. I have no problem with paying, but it's definitely predatory. That yard had about 40 Semi Trucks in there.
This is Bad boy truckers Tow company out of Fontana CA. Their Rates for Heavy Trucks is $725 an hour and $100 Storage. My question is, why am I being charged for their off the hours fee? Somebody is on duty, or else the Truck wouldn't have been towed. I followed him and saw here speeding 95 mph with my Truck & Trailer in tow. Looks like I'll be looking at over $8000 in the morning becuz it's Sunday night.
Towed! Tractor & Trailer $8000?

You parked in reserved parking spot. Then left truck and went home without paying and got towed. $22 a day sounds pretty cheap now. I can’t believe they would charge $8,000 to tow your truck. Parking in a paid parking spot then leaving and going home is just asking for trouble. Especially when someone else needed a parking spot and they paid and you don’t even care about that. I would not say you deserve a $8,000 tow.
you never explain how it’s $8,000 maybe it’s $1,8000 if they change 725 per hour plus $100 a day storage. Maybe it $2100
I guess their after hour fees are something crazy -
Something doesn’t add up here.
You went home, then later ‘saw your truck moving’? Do you live across the road from the truck stop?
Then you state, ‘you followed your truck being towed’? In this correct? You also stated, the tow truck was ‘going 95 mph’ with your truck on the hook? You didn’t call law enforcement? -
So, you not only think that a truck stop is your private parking lot but you think the reserve spots are as well?
This mindset is the reason so many of us can't find parking when we are actually working and need a place to sleep.Arctic_fox, NorthEastTrucker, Kyle G. and 1 other person Thank this. -
Finally a truck stop is enforcing their own rules. I don't feel bad for you at all. I'm happy for the trucker that showed up and got to see your truck getting towed away from the spot he had paid for.

I agree. Except the fee is crazy. In Phoenix, loves, I went in the middle of the day and there were a bunch of dropped trailers taking up space.

He's got a tracker on his truck.... he "Saw it" on his phone. The tracker probably logs speed.W923, Grumppy, Kyle G. and 1 other person Thank this.

Be that as it may, the story still doesn't add up.
