This is exactly why I fight all these fool ### brokers to stay on paper check. I’ll just keep doing business the old fashion way.

I bank with a small bank so I have no idea if this would work at a larger one. But I have a $1000 daily limit on my account, be it ACH online stuff and/or using my debit card. If I’m buying something over $1000 I call them and get it raised for a single purchase or until midnight. At midnight it goes back to $1000 automatically. If I don’t call and raise it and my activity gets close to $1000 then I start getting fraud alerts on my phone.

Thinking a potential problem would be the hackers using your information to open accounts in your name unknown to you .Not sure if the information, the hackers stole would allow the hackers to do that ?

That’s another problem I was going to mention because our personal information was also affected. I’ve been relying on the free credit reports every 4 months, but now I may have to get a monthly subscription from Equifax or from the other two.

Put a credit freeze at all three credit bureaus. No one can get credit with your information, not even the person putting the freeze on. Thawing the credit freeze takes a bit of time also.
I never did this personally. Just reading financial articles.

I prefer it too for the simplicity but I don't like the wait. I just got charged $10 from Frontier Logistics for a 'paper check fee'. Whu??????? I plan to call them. I've run a few for this brokerage and never been charged that before.

Was there any personal info provided to them in the setup?
As far as I remember, all they have is my address, FEIN, Insurance with a policy#.
That is not a big deal, since this info is available anywhere. For instance, SAFER. I don't recall giving them my SS#.

    PE_T Thanks this.

I think you’re right. I almost always only give my FEIN, but I think I may have given my SSN to a broker or two. I hope that wasn’t TQL! I tried locating the carrier setup packet, but I couldn’t find it. I think theirs was an online packet, and so I didn’t get a copy. I got a copy of the carrier agreement from RMIS, but it’s not the full packet. I may have to contact them to see if they can send me a full copy in pdf.

So is the FEIN public information?
