Never buy into that round trip scam bs. We are talking about 2 loads. If it is a round trip that doesn't mean each load pays equally. Example never accept a promise of $2/mi each way when the usual is $3.25 inbound $.75 outbound.
To turn the tables, tell them you want the full round trip rate for the inbound load and then you will be on your honor that you will run the return load for free. If they won't take your word why should you take their's? How often do you think they take it? Never.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it, TQLKB3MMX, Intothesunset, BoyWander and 5 others Thank this. -
They said we damaged a trailer....which i know we didn't cause i pulled it.....then painted it and wanted to charge us 3500 before showing any evidence.......we ended up telling them to piss off....
KB3MMX Thanks this. -
I once did a 2 load deal like this for TQL. Took a load of racks from a Berry Farms nursery in Smithville, TN down to a nursery in the panhandle of Florida. The reload was a plant load of carts out of the nursery I delivered to. They delivered to Lowe's around the Atlanta area and it paid almost $4 a mile all in. Going down was unusual in that I went down there at about $2 a mile on 500 miles. Which is normally half of what it takes for my van to venture anywhere into Florida.
The broker needed trucks in Florida to move those loads and couldn't find them. TN was kind of iffy at the time. He sounded legit. I accepted both loads but insisted he send over the dispatch sheets for both, which as everyone knows if you don't get that second email with the "dispatch sheet" which has addresses and pu#'so then you are not dispatched on the load and will not get TONU. I can say that I NEVER book anything from TQL without making them send that load sheet over.
I go through spells where I won't work with them, block their number, etc. But then usually get over it after a while and work with then again. They do have some good freight and will pay solid rates, but only when they have to.KB3MMX, misterG and Mattflat362 Thank this. -
I have pretty well written them off completely because when they low ball you and you decline they think you are an a hole but when the tables turn and you turn the screws on them they think you are twice as big the a hole. In my experience they are incapable of paying steady, decent rates. Probably been 3 years since I moved something for them. They don't call much anymore.

I haven't booked a poor rate from them in years. Always a premium rate or I dont book from them period.
KB3MMX, Lite bug and Mattflat362 Thank this. -
I've been around this forum about a year and there are two enitities on this forum that are equal in their notoriety;
1. White Volvos
2. TQL
And that must be why I own a white volvo and have never booked from TQL (too intimidated)KB3MMX, Intothesunset, RollinThunderVet and 1 other person Thank this. -
Why are you intimidated? They put their pants on one leg at a time too. They're nothing. Look, having the mindset you won't work for them is great leverage for the occasions if they do call you. They called my buddy the other day ago (same company as me) and complained that our (our company MC#) rates were just too high. Those are always proud moments.
XPO says the same thing. Lady told me once we were outrageously high but quote it anyway lol. They hate calling me around their loads here. In fact they never do to the point that when they finally break down and do it (thanks caller ID!) I know they are desperate and it's about to be a bonus load. Because I don't like them. And only work with them when they have a dire need. If you hate a particular brokerage that's your power to leverage them because there are 10,000 other brokerages to work with oUT here.KB3MMX, racemaxx24, HopeOverMope and 2 others Thank this.
