    Hello All,
I currently own an '04 and use my ELD for IFTA/IRP. I'm thinking of moving to an older truck '85-87. I started driving under the ELD mandate so I used to it and kinda like the convenience of the automated reporting features. How do you automate tracking with a mechanical engine? Thanks.

A good gos will do it for you, and you can just transfer the data over to your computer when you plug you gps into it. I know both Garmin & Rand Mcnally work this way.

I did this my self before the elogs came into effect.

Put a gps tracker on it, www.quartix.com the gps has 3 wires, B+ constant 12V, ignition 12v, and ground.

Do you know what that costs?

    Never mind , found it

I can't justify $20 a month. I will stick with pen and paper for that much.

Garmin GPS tracts it effort to get you close; then missing miles per day trip pencil it in on a state traveled.
