The big deal is,,, if you switch lets say to 3 different roads within that state you will have to note the miles for each of those 3 roads,,,, its not just a simple total for that state.

record my mileage...it also works great for the times when you think of something or go by a place you would like to remember to stop at on the way back through.it also works great for dispatch gotchas... -

When I do my IFTA Quarterly, online, there is no where on there that they ask for which roads we have traveled, only the miles broken down by state. I suppose that they would like to see which roads each driver is using the most or eventually be able to ask for that data. For us, we do about 50/50 interstate vs. two lane. But so far, no one has asked us for that information.

Its my feeling they put all these little things in the fine print so to say , to collect more money or have a way to nail you by the balls if they want or need to! -
On my trip envelopes I record mileage and highways travelled, but I don't break it down by mileage/highway ... perhaps someone else does. BTW, MS Streets and Trips (or any mapping/GPS) is very helpful in this regard, so I don't worry about recording anything until post-trip.

IFTA accepts promiles routing . I never have to fill any fuel reports out . The carrier gets the needed info from Promiles .
