And anyone who doubts this, I'll say simply this, or rather, I'll quote the party who is currently in charge.....

"We don't have a spending problem, we have a revenue problem"

I'm unclear on how EOBR'S and HOS regs are generating more revenue for the Federal Gubmint. Maybe someone can explain that premise?

You Bet!!!! One of the wisest professors I had in college was the Dean of the Mathematics department at University of Alaska - Fairbanks, Dr. Ronald Gatterdam. He made it a point to state that if there is an easier way to do something, then do it that way. Well, it is sure easier to not have to fiddle with paper, file it, try to find a page I need 3 months later, or whatever. Just a few keystrokes on my laptop and 6 month of logs available in a moment. either an idividual day or days, by the week, by the month, by the quarter, etc. In nice neat printable form.

What ever works for folks, e-log or paper, I have no contention with. I am amused how those that are fearful of e-logs will try and do character assinations on those that have no problem with them. But then, that is usually how those who have no real valid argument to present, continue any dialogue.

Cool. I have always been on record that there is no one size fits all solution to ANYTHING. But if they come about, you will be in the same boat as the everyone else. It is either that or continue to be a citizen that is not a truck driver. I am against this Facist government mindset as much as anyone. I have long since thrown away my military uniforms, medals, commendations, etc because I have long since figured out that what I was supposedly serving to protect America from, is in fact what Americans wanted. Their voting records prove that point. And don't get on the two party thing. Both parties are equally guilty. It is all about who Americans have voted for, regardless of party. But it is the world in which we live. It is either find a way to navigate thru this regulatory mess, or get out of the game. Pure and simple. Until saner minds prevail, those are the only two options available.

Sad to say that I don't think in my life time that saner minds will ever prevail.

That is because too many sane people find political candidates unacceptable and stay home election day while the insane run to the polls .

OK this is just my .02. EOBR is probably not gonna be demanded for small comapanies. What I mean by that is the single truck O/O is more than likely not gonna have to have this in their truck. As for all you bigger carriers or whatever you call yourselves. Get prepared because it will be the next big thing. And as for all the guys getting their panties in a bunch over this EOBR stuff, let me tell you this. They make plenty of ECM editing programs for cars. Such as the LS1, and the Mustang. Someone somewheer will make an editing program for a big truck as well. At least for the E style motors. Now what I want to know is how are they gonna mandate an EOBR for a mechanical motor? Think about this everyone. They can't. So yet another group will be singled out to have EOBR's such as a company with more than 10 trucks or something. I am pretty sure that is how this will go down. But again I state that the average O/O with their own authority and a good CSA score will NOT be mandated.
