I still don't see why a driver like me has to have any RODS at all. I've proven to be a safe driver year after year after year. It's not about safety it's about compliance. "When we push, you bend."

i thought that under proposed rules all current ebors elogs etc didn't meet specifications . due to the fact that they could be edited and no way to verify who really is driving . either way i'll just go on doing the best i can under the rules to the best of my ability

The ''DOT'' and ''FMCSA'' are making ''fools'' out of these so called ''professional'' drivers. It's pathetic to watch what the ''drivers'' will put up with and the abuse they take, for VERY LITTLE MONEY...It's a shame after 3.5 Million Miles running safe, they want to treat us ALL like LITTLE BABIES PISSING OURSELVES.

What's next.?..DOT CERTIFIED trucker diapers while ''on duty''.So all the children can poop themselves while driving there 11.So these slave driven mega carriers can get more miles out of you.?..

No, no diapers, you have to take a potty break after 8 consecutive hours of driving come July though. So make sure you hop on line 1 for a half an hour after running 8 hours, or your going to get spanked. :biggrin_25525:

whats so sad is that we are not too far from that

drivers get governed trucks, they are happy
drivers get elos, they are happy
drivers get cameras facing while they drive, they are happy

i wonder what will it take for drivers to get hopping mad?

    I'm hopping mad

Clean record for sixteen years and now getting treated like a stepchild.

 thank you elogs for telling me I've been doing it all wrong :banghead:

Here is an idea, why don't they just make sure drivers are actually qualified to drive.

Actually the problem is deeper. Elogs are but a symptom of a worse problem. And all Americans, including you, are being played for fools. As long as the powers that be can keep everyone's eyes focused on side issues like Elogs, the more they can tighten their grip on Americans. Sometimes it is easy to miss the forest for the trees. As for the DOT certified diapers, you'll love this one. Read this article and see how it is conceivable that FMCSA would mandate such a thing for drug testing.......

I saw 4 truck rollovers this week. Now, we all know that these accidents will be investigated and if it is found that the drivers were running outside the boundaries of HOS it would be considered evidence that mandatory EOBR's are necessary.

However, it occurred to me what if these trucks have EOBR's, (they all look kind of the same when they are on their side in a ditch, but by the trailers looked like large company trucks) ? Then is this considered evidence that we do not need EOBR's ? Or the reg's aren't working ? Or do they simply conclude we need tighter restrictions ?

What if these drivers had been running for 8 hours straight because they were trying to get to a destination before they ran out of hours ?
