I grew up very rural, so folks would pitch in with one another to build each other's structures. One of the sayings I was taught along the way was: "Measure twice, cut once."
We're -- and I mean more than one person -- presently looking for a good candidate based, in large part, on what I've learned here. Consequently, I'm also getting questions from others...and one of those questions was about changing the gear ratio in a tandem axle setup. I wan't sure, so I thought that I'd ask the experts.

Parts wise, It was going to be cheaper for me to change my 15 spd trans to a 13 to drop my final ratio. Something like $5k for the trans vs I think ~$3500 for each Rockwell SQ100 gear set. Maybe Eatons are cheaper? There's two of them see that's the catch. Less labor tho.Oxbow Thanks this.
