I don't believe they're made in Mexico. I think it's somewhere in the USA but not sure exactly where. They're definitely not built the same as Freightliner. The steel that the cabs are made out of along with a few other things is much more heavy duty than Freightliner, but other than that, there really isn't anything special about them anymore since they aren't Canadian..

Sterling trucks are no longer manufactured. I don't think any took DEF but there are a few floating around with DD15 engines. One I drove with MBE 4000 was ungoverned at any speed I cared to try and was the fastest truck I have ever driven except maybe for the no holds 460 Cummins N14 in a 93 FLD 120. maybe, I never figured out how fast they would go, either one of them.

One in particular I've seen up here a few times, with US plates, not sure which state though or name on the door but that is one hell of a clean rig whoever's it is.
I'd have to say most of the logging trucks up here are Western Stars.
I'd look at them if I were in the market. -
I always thought Western Stars were heavy for what I do. Always been paid by the ton, or hundred weight, bushel etc. That being said I don't obcess over weight. They definitely have tgere place, looking cool on the ride to that place well that's just the perks of a Star car. I could see me owning one for sure in a different end of this business
Dye Guardian Thanks this. -

I'm a sucker for Volvo's. They just ride so nice and are super comfy. Honestly though, if I bought one it would be a cascadia with a 475+ motor.

There are a lot of Freightliners out there. Seems every other truck I see is a Cascadia. So they must be worth something. That's what I drive. It's cheap and plastic. Not a very cozy interior. But I've been driving this one for two years and I haven't been in the shop once. Aside for normal maintenance. It's got 390,000 on the odometer and still running strong. Of course, that is low miles compared to another post about a Pete with 1.4 million. Wow. That's crazy. But I hear that around 500,000, these Freightliners start having problems. Since I'm about 100,000 out, I thought I'd state that.
