A conviction when you were under age won't be a problem as long as you were under 18 at the time. But even then it is not a federal crime, just a provincial regulation. DUI is a federal crime.

I was 20 years old. The charge was a local criminal charge misdemeanor charge. The local charge was prohibitions, but the charge lusted on my record is underage possession of alcohol

Underage possession of alcohol is not a criminal offence. You should be good. So if asked if any criminal offences or as you call them felonies the answer is NO
Drinking age was 18 in the 70’s, think they moved it up to 19 at some time

I got a similar charge and spent nearly a day being interrogated. Screw those people. Plenty of money to be made down here, so absolutely no need to be treated like some mass murdering rapist cause i got caught with a beer in my hand at a high school party.

Our legal drinking age ranges from 19 for most provinces and 18 for Quebec Alberta and Manitoba. By our standards you were not a minor in possession of alcohol. In my mind you should be fine in this regard.

Keep a $20 usd for border processing when you re-enter USA. They may be cash only. If there is a currency exchange at the border that is a good place to change your greenbacks for our monopoly money. Depending on your bank your debit card may not work here, but most major credit cards will. And our fuel is expensive, as a us carrier I am not sure if you are eligible to get the sales tax returned.

You can also pay your one time border crossing fee online and save the hassle of going inside at customs.. print a copy of the receipt in case they ask but it will be in computer and when they scan your plate it pops up

Just google single trip border crossing fee it brings you to the site I used a few times . I don't cross enough to bother with transponder so I just do the single trip instead of having to go inside to pay as they no longer take cash at booth for awhile now
