    If you can't safely stop then don't stop.

    That being said, when you approach a stale light, you need to be on your brakes earlier, even though it's still green.

    NM drivers won a small victory last year when the NMDOT ruled that red light cameras could not be used on roads under state maintenance. A number of cameras had to be removed.
